Internet Lingo from Mr. Chan (Brandon)
Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Dear Internet,

Today I have been asked to compose a blog of such fortitude that it forces your brain to grow 2 inches!  Mr. Canarelli (total n00b) asked me to write a blog about how I type on the internet.  So without further adue let me fill you with knowledge that you will wish you never read.  I must say if this turns out to be reverse psychology and you end up dumber that Axis Creative Group and myself may not be held responsible.  If you feel smarter though…feel free to mail me your gratitude in the form of money, subway/quiznos giftcards, a new Qaudcore processor (3.0+), a pair of SLI compattable vid cards (9800gtx +), an iMac (at least duo core) or new MBP (…macbook pro).

So Mr. Miguel and I have been talking back and forth for many months.  It seems that I quite often will spew some word or lingo that he just quite frankly has no clue what I’m saying.  Sort of like when your mom heard you rocking out to Limp Bizkit and she just didn’t know why you were down with some white guy talking about the “nookie”.  I was quite fond of that song, and rocked my red NY hat like it was a medal of honor from my teenage angst war.  Feast your eye sockets on this lovely memory

Fred Durst FTW

Fred Durst FTW

I’m sure your now thinking WTF (what the #()$*) is this kid talking about.  Maybe your saying this guy is a total n00b (someone new to something, lacking an understanding or possibly just a loser who isn’t in the cool crowd).  Either way I has no cares for your opinion …unless its good!

Anyhow I recall Mr. Miguel not knowing with pwn meant, so I’ll spend some time on this.  When the nerdy crowd feels they completely defeated someone in some competitive event they will say they “pwnd” the said person.  This originates from the word owned.  People started to say pwnd when a map was created in Warcraft (the RTS not WoW) and named pwn on accident.  The nerd family may also say “i pwnd j00″ …don’t be alarmed that just means “I have defeated you”.

It’s fairly common to see people use numbers in place of letters…instead of covering that I’ll just say use some creative thinking.  Total pun was intended on the creative thinking….incase you missed that! Another great love of the online gaming/nerdy/tech savvy community is without a doubt the one and only…LOLCATS!

LOLcats wtf rafl

LOLcats wtf rafl

They give everyone such a great lol,rofl/rafl, or even the grand puma of them all…roflmao.  If you don’t know these words then congrats for making it this far into the post.  If you have the beloved iPhone you can search around and find a LOLcats app…i recommend this.  You can pick up the hot babes by showing them your cute/funny little kitties.  A popular phrase that I believe derived from the beloved LOLcats would be “i can has”…just look at this and tell me your not somewhat in love.

yes..yes you can my furry friend!

Yes.. yes you can my furry friend!

If your not laughing or saying aww…well then your just abnormal my e-friend.  Apple has also introduced a new means of lingo.  Putting the lowercase ‘i’ with a captial letter afterwards seems to be a rage.  For example iHax, iPwn, iNeedSomeone2SendMeMonies?…either way apple is loving the attention they have been getting over the past few years I’m sure.

Well my burning desire/nerd rage is calling me to go pwn some n00bs.  The bloggage shall continue another day…same place!  For those of you that read this I thank you kindly and would love to hear any feedback – so PLEASE leave a comment.

Regards,

Brandon Dangerfield (AKA Chan)

Jumping ship: BB vs iPhone
Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Today is my first day of blogging glory here with the Axis Creative Group. I thought long and hard about what I’d like to share with the interweb. I figured I might as well electronically spill my guts about none other than my now long lost friend who shall go un named for now. You see I have been with this said friend for many moons…and years! When I was down and out he always kept me entertained. When I couldn’t sleep at night there was always something new to learn about him. Anytime I needed to receive an email…well gosh darnit Blackusberry came through on point! You see I have been using Blackberry products for quite some time now. I do enjoy the apple products but I’m not quite at the “fanboi” stage.

The last blackberry I used was the Storm, it had a little too much hype for its own good. It is a great phone for a blackberry but I feel they should’ve done a little more testing before release. I will give BBerry credit where its due though..if you want the BEST email service on your phone then you cannot beat blackberry. You instantly get your email the second it is sent to you. I have not yet ventured to the Bold but I would assume its a great phone.

I separated ways with my storm while I was still under a trial period. My new best phone-friend is a well known competitor that I got for a small one hundred dollars. If your up to date on your deals you may already know that its the one and only iPhone. This phone has hands down won me over. I don’t mind the 15 minute checks for email (instead of instant). If you think you have an email and want to know that second all you really have to do is click the mail icon to see and its easy as that. The sms messaging is great on this bad boy, its similar to iChat. You have bubbles for the person your texting, the other persons bubble is grey and on the left hand side. The texts that you send will show up on the right hand side and are green. These colors and settings can be changed via your theme.

More technology bloggage to come – stay tuned!
